What is the book that you wish you hadn't wasted money on?
Mine: Forrest Gump. As much as I love the movie, I just could not read the book. The main character is mentally retarded (politically correct?), illiterate, and low education. AND, it's written in first person! That $hit was hard to read, lol. I put it down after the first two pages.
I'm not saying it's a bad book, but that I wish I hadn't spent my money on it. Also, a couple of romance novels I bought from e-harlequin.com because the pacing was slow.
Curse of the Mistwraith - Janny Wurts
I was excited for this one, the jacket cover sounded so interesting. She had a really good idea, but she kind of blew it in my mind. There's too much detail in her prose, she tells instead of shows. And her characters are not like-able (except one). I couldn't even get through it, which makes it the first book I've never finished. It's frustrating when a premise that good gets killed by bad writing.
