Can you recommend a good software to make a catalog of products for my business?
I need to find a program and make a catalog for My company is a manufacturer of filters. For some reason, we need a catalog on CD in addition to our web page ... A big problem is that there are potentially thousands of different items because the model includes the various options #. PLEASE HELP!
You need several things. You need a program management database so that you can enter all data for parts so systematic. If you want to print a catalog (it can be placed on a CD) by showing pictures of items, part numbers, descriptions, etc. you need a page layout program to build your catalog. You probably need a photo editing program if you use pictures of products. And you need to hire someone (maybe a couple of freelance or contract employees) to do the work for you, because it is not a thing you can learn in a few days. I am not very knowledgeable about the programs database (and if your company is not using a program management database already, you will have a difficult time, and could end up with all sorts of problems, because how do you keep track of your products and orders and so on?) So you have to do some research for it. To take pictures of products, you need a good camera Photo and Photoshop or something similar to edit images with. Photoshop is expensive. There is also the free Gimp, you can find only www.gimp.org. Again, you do not need to hire someone who knows what they are doing, whatever program they use. To produce the catalog itself, you want Adobe InDesign or QuarkXpress. Quickly became the standard Adobe InDesign. This is a program complex layout that allows you to set up books, catalogs, brochures, etc. But it takes time to learn, once again you're better off hiring someone to do this for you. I urge you to advertisements in local newspapers or local sites online job or Craigs list in your area to find someone who can do the job. There is no simple program that can do that for you and you can learn quickly. Good luck.
