1.Adam was going to buy a new lawn mower from Lawn Care Depot. It was priced at $169, but was on sale for 10% off. He saw the same mower on sale at Tractors-R-Us. Their mower originally cost $210 and was on sale for 1/3 off.
Determine the sale price of the mower at each store. Identify which store would be the most economical place to purchase the mower.
10% off $169:
169 * 10 = 1690, then divide by 100 and get 16.9
subtract that from the original $169. The lawn mower cost $152.10
1/3 off of $210:
210/3 = 70, subtract 70 from 210. the lawn mower cost $140.
