Would an antique book be worth less if it has an advertisement on the dust jacket?
the advertisement is original to the cover itself...nothing added on...
For the most part, the value of an old book is determined by demand. If the particular edition contained a promotion on the cover, that could contribute to the value, but again, it depends on what sort of interest there is in the book itself.
Go to http://www.abe.com and enter the title of your book as well as other information you have (author, pub, pub date) and see if anything comes up. ABE is an excellent site for determining the interest and price of old books.
